Manchester United makes final decision on Sofyan Amrabat's future

Manchester United have reportedly informed Fiorentina that they are no longer interested in triggering the buy-option clause in Sofyan Amrabat's deal ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The news was confirmed by transfer news guru, Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his official X account on Sunday, July 21, 2024, that Manchester United already made a final decision on Sofyan Amrabat. According to reports, the Moroccan international was keen on remaining at Old Trafford beyond his loan spell which ended in June 2024.

"Manchester United have informed Fiorentina that they will not trigger €20m buy option clause for Sofyan Amrabat. Told Man United remain interested in Amrabat and willing to discuss different conditions, as Erik ten Hag likes him. There’s interest also from other clubs."

Manchester loaned the Moroccan from the Serie A club last season, paying €10 million for the loan period and agreeing to another €20 million to make the deal permanent.

However, there is a possibility that United will probably return to Fiorentina to discuss a deal for the midfielder at a cheaper amount. This is because the player has made it clear that he does not want to remain with Fiorentina.

The deal is dependent on whether Manchester United can buy Manuel Ugarte, from PSG, and if fail to sell Casemiro in this window, there would be no need for Amrabat.
