Mulanje Police Station has awarded Chairperson of Muloza Community Policing Forum Patrick Somanje with a khaki envelope for his vigilance in fighting against crime in Traditional Authority Njema.

Mulanje Police Officer-in-Charge Deputy Commissioner of Police Owen Maganga said Somanje has been reporting criminal incidences, foiling crimes, and appearing before court to give evidence without fear, a spirit he said is lacking among other CPF members.

On his part, businessman Edison Nachuma has pledged a monthly stipend of K50,000 to Somanje as motivation.

District Commissioner for Mulanje, David Kayiwonanga Gondwe, has urged other CPF leaders to emulate Somanje’s hardworking spirit.

Meanwhile, a station executive committee meeting is underway, and the station is expected to disseminate to the stakeholders a crime prevalence report with challenges and achievements registered in the past six months.
