Liverpool FC have made contact with RB Leipzig as they intensify their interest in highly rated forward Yan Diomande.

The Merseyside club are also understood to be in a strong position with the player’s camp as discussions over a potential move continue to progress.

RB Leipzig, however, are holding firm on their valuation of the 19-year-old, insisting he is not for sale unless a bid in excess of €130 million (£112.4m) is tabled. The Bundesliga side have also pointed out that Diomande is under contract until 2030 and does not have a release clause.

Liverpool’s interest comes at a time when the club are reassessing their attacking options following significant squad changes and major investment in previous windows, meaning a deal of that magnitude would require careful consideration at Anfield.

Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation, although Liverpool are currently seen as more advanced in their approach, while Manchester City remain admirers but are yet to make concrete moves.

Diomande, who joined Leipzig from Leganés in 2025, enjoyed a standout breakthrough season, registering 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances to help secure Champions League qualification.

The Ivory Coast international has remained relaxed about speculation surrounding his future, saying he is focused on his development on the pitch while acknowledging that interest from top clubs is motivating.

Liverpool are also continuing to plan for further squad reinforcement after confirming additional high-value deals, including the arrival of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes.
