Late arrivals may derail Super Falcons fears ex-star

The late arrival to training camp by the Super Falcons could work against them tomorrow against South Africa in a crunch 2024 Paris Olympics playoffs, according to former star Stella Mbachu.

While Banyana Banyana of South Africa have been in camp for the past two weeks, their Nigerian counterparts have only trickled in this week as most of them are based overseas.

Star player Asisat Oshoala is only expected today.

Mbachu said this shoddy build-up will affect the cohesion of the Super Falcons.

“Coach Randy Waldrum is a good coach, but he needs time to work with the players,” she said.

“Other African teams like South Africa have worked with their home-based players and it has worked for them.

“We also need to do same.”

However, despite the chaotic preparations by the Falcons, Mbachu will still back them to win the home game tomorrow on their way to qualifying for the Paris Olympics.

“The Nigerian spirit of determination will see the team through,” she predicted.

“I see us winning this game 2-0 and going on to qualify for the Olympics.”

Kick-off tomorrow at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja is 5pm.
