Bamidele Ademola Olateju, the Commissioner for Information in Ondo State, has addressed speculations surrounding Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s health.

During her interview with Channels TV, Olateju vehemently dismissed rumors suggesting that the governor’s illness is more severe than publicly disclosed. Highlighting recent instances, Olateju pointed out that when Governor Akeredolu was returning to Nigeria, there was video evidence of him actively engaging with his phone, sending messages. She added that the governor had personally called her less than two weeks ago, portraying him as being of sound mind and refuting any notion of senility. She concluded by affirming that Governor Akeredolu has his faculties intact.

In Olateju’s words: “When Governor Akeredolu was coming back to Nigeria on airplane we saw video of him toying with his phone, sending messages. The governor called me less than 2 weeks ago. The governor is of sound mind; the governor is not senile. He has his faculties intact”.
