A tragic road accident involving delegates from Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State has claimed one life and left several others injured while en route to the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zonal Congress.

The deceased delegate has been identified as Dalhat Machika. Among those injured are a former deputy governor of the state, Sirajo Umar Damari, and the APC chairman of Sabuwa Local Government.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, Ibrahim Kaula, the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital in Tudun Wada, Kaduna.

Governor Radda visited the hospital after the congress to assess the condition of the victims.

According to the statement, he “sympathised with the victims and their families and prayed for their quick recovery.”

The governor also assured them of government’s support during this difficult period.

He was accompanied during the visit by the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari; Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; and other senior government officials.
