Karim Benzema reveals the only man who can bring him back to Real Madrid

Karim Benzema, in a new interview, has opened up on whether he would ever consider joining Real Madrid again in future.

According to reports, former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema is open to a sensational return to Spain, hinting that he would not turn down an opportunity to reunite with club president Florentino Pérez. The French striker, who spent 14 remarkable years at the Santiago Bernabéu before leaving for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023, did not rule out the possibility of wearing the white shirt again.

Benzema has continued to enjoy success in Saudi Arabia since his departure from Europe. After signing a three-year deal with Al-Ittihad last year, he quickly became one of the leading figures in the Saudi Pro League. The 2023–24 season saw him play a key role in the club’s domestic double, scoring 25 goals across all competitions and helping secure both the league title and the King’s Cup.

In an interview with AS, Benzema was asked whether he could envision Real Madrid reaching out for a potential reunion. His response left the door wide open. He stated that as long as Pérez remains in charge, the possibility exists.

“Why? (Laughs). He’s someone I can never say no to. Florentino is special,” Benzema said. “If Florentino is still there, it could happen. I talk to him and it’s possible. I'm a Real Madrid fan. I feel it in my soul. Madrid is still my city—I feel like a Real Madrid fan and a Madrileño. We’ll see what happens. If he’s there…”

He continued by reaffirming his love for the club: “It will always be my team. I still watch the games whenever I can. It’s the best club in the world. It always has been and always will be. It’s a team with a lot of potential, and I think it can do more than it’s doing right now.”

With Benzema still under contract in Saudi Arabia, a return is far from confirmed, but his remarks are sure to spark excitement among Real Madrid supporters who would welcome back one of the club’s greatest modern legends.
