Kaduna Anglican diocese mourns as Ven Achi dies in kidnappers den

The Kaduna Diocese of the Anglican Church has expressed deep sadness over the death of one of its priests, Venerable Edwin Achi who reportedly died in the den of kidnappers on Wednesday November 26.

The late cleric, his wife and daughter were kidnapped on October 28. The kidnappers were asking for a ransom of N600 million according to reports.

But the church in a flyer shared online confirmed the death of the priest. The fate of his wife and his daughter is still uncertain as the diocese asks that the church should continue to pray for their release.

The diocese notes in the flyer that the late cleric was faithful, humble and unwavering in his devotion to God and his love for humanity.

The flyer reads in part, “We continue to pray for the release of his wife and daughter who are still in the den of kidnappers”
