The family of the late Nollywood actor Johnpaul Obumneme Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope, released an updated poster detailing the burial arrangement.

In the viral burial plans circulating online, Junior Pope, who lost his life in boat accident, is scheduled to be laid to rest on May 17, 2024, in his hometown in Enugu.

This is coming after the old burial poster sparked outrage over the omission of the word ‘husband’ in the tribute section.

It seems that the family finally bowed to pressure by acknowledging the deceased marital status.

A revised burial poster includes tributes recognizing Junior Pope as a son, brother, husband, father, and grandchild, thus addressing the initial discrepancy.

The family of the 43-year-old clarified that the viral poster was unauthorized and has been rectified in the updated poster, where tributes now acknowledge Junior Pope as a son, brother, husband, father, and grandson.

The new burial statement reads, “In Loving Memory of our dear brother, With heavy hearts,we share the Obituary poster of our beloved brother, JohnPaul Obumneme Odowondo (Junior Pope)It is with profound sorrow and sadness that we announce his untimely passing. As a family, we have approved and released this poster in honor of his memory.”

“Although words cannot adequately express our grief, we take solace in the memories we shared with him. From his contagious laughter to his compassionate soul,every moment spent in his company was cherished.”

“The family has set the date for his final resting place, and we invite all friends,well-wishers,and loved ones to join us as we bid a tearful farewell.The burial ceremony will take place on the 17th of May, 2024, at Ukehe,his Home Town,Enugu State.”
