Judo National Team Athletes Urged To Stay Disciplined Ahead Of African Championship

Nigeria’s judo team has received a charge to maintain discipline and stay focused ahead of the forthcoming Africa senior championship in Nairobi, Kenya; where the athletes have been told to represent the country’s flag with integrity.

Sports247 reports that the charge came from National Sports Commission (NSC) director-general, Honourable Bukola Olopade, who also urged the team justify the support they continue receiving from the federal government.

While assuring them of more support from government through the NSC, Olopade urged the judokats to continue their efforts and stay committed to their training, as no stone will be left unturned in preparing the team adequately for the contest.

Olopade added, “I salute you guys’ dedication and commitment but, at the same time, I also want to urge you all to stay disciplined at all times and put in the hard work to achieve a successful outing in Kenya.

“This year’s tournament in Kenya is a pathway to the Olympics, which attests to the seriousness the Commission has attached to your preparations. Your job is to go out there and do the country proud in performance and in conduct.”
