Jon Moxley’s proposal to Will Ospreay ends in a cliffhanger

Something very interesting is brewing between Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay. The Death Riders ‘kidnapped’ Ospreay on Dynamite, and that led to a cliffhanger proposal on Collision (Apr. 25, 2026).

To refresh the memory from Wednesday night, the Death Riders saved Ospreay from more pain at the hands of the Callis Family. Moxley’s D-Riders carried Ospreay off into the darkness, and we were left wondering what the hell is going on.

Come Saturday night, we found out that the answer is intriguing. AEW aired a scene filmed after Dynamite. It sounds like Moxley wants to mentor Ospreay into becoming, “a weapon like professional wrestling has never seen.” Before we get to the meat of the conversation, be sure to enjoy Marina Shafir’s chiropractor skills cracking Ospreay’s neck with a towel. Moxley brought up a good point by asking what is Ospreay trying to accomplish. He thinks Bruv has lost his way. Running into a brick wall isn’t going to get Ospreay through to the other side. The body will break. Instead, step back and realize that there is a door. If Opsreay can train his mind not to break, then he can become everything that he is meant to be.

Moxley understands that Ospreay wants to break his neck for revenge, so he offered to settle up that debt. The choice is revenge or accept Moxley’s tutelage to become the best. Moxley slid a steel chair over to Ospreay, and he laid on the ground willing to accept punishment. Ospreay was conflicted. He was tempted to paralyze Moxley, but it seems like he also realizes there is truth in what Mox said. Opsreay shooed the cameraman away, and we were left with a cliffhanger about his decision.

Well, we know that Ospreay didn’t break Moxley’s neck, because Mox was on Collision at the commentary table for the Death Riders match. He teased that we will get answers soon enough from Ospreay.

There is a very engaging dynamic for the storytelling between Moxley and Ospreay. Even though the Death Riders started as an evil heel faction, mentoring Ospreay fits within their mission statement. Moxley wants to train those who are worthy to become the best in an effort to elevate AEW as a whole. Ospreay earned respect through combat, and Mox can mold him into the perfect weapon. Training sessions in the dungeon can give Ospreay an iron neck and an iron mind. This can also help Ospreay get back on track to the journey of winning the world title. There is a lot of potential for a great story to be told. The question is if Ospreay will accept the proposal.
