It sounds like we just watched the last one night SummerSlam

@WWE When asked about going to two nights permanently, Triple H revealed he thinks that will be the case moving forward. Back in late May, WWE announced SummerSlam would be expanding to two nights in 2026 when they head for Minneapolis. A month later, they revealed Indianapolis would get a future SummerSlam event that will also be two nights. This raises a natural question: Are two night SummerSlam events going to be the norm moving forward? Triple H was asked as much at the post-show press conference for this year’s event and he sure made it sound like that’s the case: “Who knows what the future brings? But I do think that even tonight seeing this SummerSlam, seven-match card that goes almost four hours to me and yet there was a lot of stuff we could have put into this.

Triple H was asked as much at the post-show press conference for this year’s event and he sure made it sound like that’s the case:

“Who knows what the future brings? But I do think that even tonight seeing this SummerSlam, seven-match card that goes almost four hours to me and yet there was a lot of stuff we could have put into this. And even some people saying, ‘well, why wasn’t that in there?’ Because it would have been eight hours, right? And you still need stuff for Raw, you still need massive content for SmackDown. You still need all that stuff. As we continue to grow, we’ll take it, like I said, step by step. So is this the last SummerSlam that you see that is one night? I think so. But we’ll see where that goes long term. I’m excited about that opportunity.”

This year’s show did indeed run long at least when compared to what we’ve become accustomed to with typical premium live events since Triple H took over running WWE. Having said that, it was a major show with a lot to cram into the card.

Which is to say it would have helped if it was spread over two nights.

It sounds like that won’t be a problem anymore.
