'I’m scared for people this December,' Ruger warns fans

Nigerian singer Ruger has sounded an alarm ahead of the upcoming festive season, warning citizens and visitors to be extra cautious amid what he described as a growing wave of kidnappings across the country.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the Asiwaju crooner expressed deep concern about public safety as Nigerians prepare for the popular Detty December celebrations, a period often marked by heavy travel and large social gatherings.

“I’m scared for people this December. Kidnapping has become a full-time business in some parts of Nigeria, and it’s only gonna get worse this festive season,” Ruger wrote. “People will travel back to their villages from abroad and from many other places in Nigeria. These bastards will strike hard.”

The singer’s warning comes amid rising reports of insecurity and abductions across different regions of the country. Ruger urged everyone to remain vigilant, plan travels wisely, and prioritize safety while reuniting with family or attending any event this festive season.

Ruger’s message serves as a timely reminder that while the December holidays are usually filled with excitement, music, and parties, ensuring one’s safety should remain a top priority.
