Former Sporting Lagos head coach, Paul Offor, has revealed that he has no regrets over parting ways with the NPFL debutants, Soccernet.ng reports.

Coach Paul was in charge of the noisy Lagosians, and led them from the second-tier Nigerian league to the Nigerian Professional Football League, alongside winning their first-ever trophy in the Naija Super 8.

However, their poor form in the league, coupled with the absence of an away win and the treatment of certain players, coach Paul was axed from the sidelines at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, with Abdullahi Biffo taking over.

Speaking on the Abu Azeez podcast, Coach Paul revealed that if he was given a second chance, he wouldn’t have done anything different, reiterating he has no regrets about leaving the club.

“I think some of the reasons for what I did with the team was why I am no longer with the team. When you come into a team as a coach sometimes you have to make radical decisions all your decisions won’t favour everybody. When I came in I observed the players and I saw the need for a massive squad overhaul, which I did and in the process, I stepped on a lot of toes I don’t think I was forgiven for that,” the former Warri Wolves assistant manager said.

Under Biffo, Sporting Lagos have won a game and lost one. The former Kwara United coach lost away to Katsina United on his debut but made amends with a 4-2 victory over Abia Warriors.
