I Went to Prison at 19 and Spent 29 Years, 8 Months for a Crime I Didn’t Know About — Man Cries Out

A video that has gone viral online shows a Nigerian man emotionally recounting how he spent almost three decades in prison for a crime he says he did not commit.

The clip, which was shared on X, features the man explaining that he was sent to prison at the age of 19 following an incident involving someone he had been sharing a room with.

According to him, the roommate was later found dead in their shared room. He said that after his arrest and trial, the court sentenced him to 29 years, eight months, and three days in prison.

Recalling his experience, the man said he lost nearly 30 years of his life behind bars simply because he had been staying in the same room with the person who died.

“I went to prison at the age of 19. I spent 29 years, 8 months, and three days behind bars simply because I was sleeping in a room with a friend who later d!ed…” He said
