I Keep Getting Rejected and It Is Killing My Self-Esteem

I am a young man of 25. This is my seventh year at the university, and I am currently a 600 level student here in Bambili.

I am the squeaky-clean type. I am always clean, neat, welcoming, and very calm. But my problem is this: I have never been in a relationship. All I have ever gotten from women is rejection, and I am already tired of it.

Even friendship is a problem. I do not really have anyone I can call a friend to hang out with. I have two male friends, but I have noticed that I am always the one checking on them. It feels like I am forcing it. I go the extra mile, even visiting them sometimes, and they do not extend the same courtesy back to me. It is not that I have high expectations. I just think I should be considered, too. If they consider me a friend, I wish it felt more mutual.

The worst part is that many people do not believe I do not have a woman in my life. No matter how much I try to convince them, it is the truth. Some say a good-looking guy like me could never be single. It is frustrating.

Sometimes I sit and ask myself so many questions. I check my character. I am someone who is very caring and understanding. But things are still moving in a negative direction.

Even in my class, building friendship is difficult. Most of my classmates are like my big brothers and sisters. They are back in school to further their education, and it creates a distance.
