Global pop star and actress Selena Gomez has spoken candidly about her struggles with body shaming and the toll it has taken on her self-esteem.

In a recent interview with Allure, Gomez reflected on the scrutiny she has faced over her appearance and how harsh comments about her body often led to deep insecurity and emotional turmoil.

She said: “I’ve dealt with a lot of weight issues in my life, and that’s something I’m very sensitive to,

“I got stung by a person saying I was fat. Why is that emotion coming up?

“Oh, now I understand, that’s stemming from that one time when I was going through some medical stuff and I had gained weight,”

“You just definitely have to be willing to do the work, and that part can be tricky.”
