The CBN has already declared that the old Naira notes no longer recognized as legal tender despite the Supreme Court order to keep them till the next hearing on Feb 22.

The Apex bank on Tuesday has however released the guidelines to deposit old Naira notes at of their branches across the country from Feb 15 to 17

1. Go to online portal and fill application form introduced by CBN with your details, after which you will receive a reference number that you can take to the bank to make your deposit.  

2. If you can't fill their form online, go straight to the assigned bank and fill the form physically and the account will be verified by law enforcement.

The plan is to collect the money and deposit them back into your account.

According to them, the process can take up to four weeks (1 month)

NB! You can not deposit for another person or assign anyone to make a deposit on your behalf no matter your status in the society.

The requirements from you 

i) The reference number from the application form

ii) The active bank account

iii) Bank Verification Number

iv) Federal government ID card

In other news, Emefiele meets with heads of banks, says N200 notes will be circulated immediately
