Helen Pitcher OBE (born March 1958) is a British entrepreneur who served as chair of the Criminal Cases Review Commission from 2018 to 2025 and chair of the Judicial Appointments Commission. Pitcher led the Queen’s Counsel Selection Panel from 2009 to 2017. She was also named Director of Advanced Boardroom Excellence Limited in 2013. Pitcher was first appointed chair of the Criminal Cases Review Commission in September 2018, and will serve a three-year term beginning on November 1.

Helen has an MA, LLB (Law), and IDP-C (INSEAD International Director’s Programme Advanced Corporate Governance Certificate). She is the only Consultant in the UK Board Effectiveness field with this INSEAD certificate.

She completed the INSEAD Strategy in the Age of Digital Disruption and Accelerated Growth Programmes, as well as the INSEAD Diversity Programme.
