He Paid My Rent Then I Met His Pregnant Girlfriend

I was looking for a place to stay, and he offered to pay my rent. I wanted to know why, and he said he wanted to do it because he liked me. He paid a one-year rent for me. Later, it turned into a relationship.

Before we started dating, he told me he had gotten another woman pregnant by mistake and wanted me to know before anything serious started between us. I felt he was being truthful by laying all his cards on the table. I didn’t like the idea, but his honesty made me say yes to him nonetheless.

He was always with me at my place and didn’t want to take me to his. It was one excuse after the other. Either his mother was living with him and he didn’t want to complicate things because of the other lady who was pregnant, or he wasn’t too sure about one or two things.

But one day, he took me home after I had stressed him over and over again. He said, “You see, there’s nothing to hide around here. You just have to believe me that I live alone.”

Then a pregnant woman entered, screaming, “So you have the guts to bring another woman into the house? What do you take me for? You think you can get away with it?”

Then this pregnant lady charged toward me to attack me. He jumped between us and pulled me away while the pregnant woman swung her hands, trying to hit me. He locked me up in the bedroom and went out to deal with her.

For several minutes, I could hear them arguing. The woman was loud, asking, “Who is she? Why are you bringing her home when you know I’m still pregnant for you?” He responded, “You know my stand, and I thought we both agreed that it won’t work between us.” She screamed, “I’m pregnant for you, Roland! I’m pregnant for you!”

Late in the night, he drove me back to my place. We sat quietly as he drove until he asked, “I hope this won’t change anything.”

I couldn’t give him an answer. I was conflicted. This is another woman we are talking about. It could have been me who was pregnant, and it could have been him bringing another woman into his house while I lived not too far away and could see everything.

I wish things were easier than this, but I’m going to ask you the same question he asked me: if you were in my shoes, would this change anything for you?
