Growing Tensions: US warns of stepped-up strikes if Iran violates ceasefire

U.S. President Donald Trump launched a fresh warning to Iran via Truth Social, stating that the Islamic Republic "will cease to exist" should the nation abandon the ceasefire agreement.

The president's remarks came after Iran launched missile and drone attacks against U.S. military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.

"US warplanes have just attacked Iranian missile and drone storage facilities, along with coastal radar sites, for breaching the Ceasefire Agreement yet again! It seems they will never learn!”

The threats took place 10 days following the ceasefire agreement signed on June 17. Despite the document temporarily mitigating hostilities, various attacks have started to undermine the security guaranteed by the cessation of conflict.

"A time may come when we can no longer remain reasonable and will be forced to militarily complete the work we began with great success," the president wrote. "If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will cease to exist!"

After the social media message, Trump did not provide further details on the location of the bombings carried out or their results on the Iranian installations.

However, hours earlier, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) reported a new wave of strikes against multiple military targets in Iran in response to a drone attack attributed to Tehran against the Panamanian-flagged tanker M/T Kiku while it was sailing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Attacks on United States Facilities

In an official communique, the Revolutionary Guards of Iran confirmed they had carried out strikes against US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for US aggression on their territory. Furthermore, they issued a warning to the United States government.

"Any enemy aggression, whatever its pretext, even against insignificant targets (...), will receive an implacable response," stated the Revolutionary Guards.
In the wake of the attacks, Kuwait reported confronting an offensive with hostile missiles and drones; in Bahrain, air raid sirens went off, and residents were advised to seek shelter as a preventative measure.
