Gov Makinde Reshuffles Cabinet, Appoints New SSG, Announces Fresh Key Appointments

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has carried out a cabinet reshuffle, appointing Professor Musibau Adetunji Babatunde as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, which confirmed that the former SSG, Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo, has been relieved of her duties with immediate effect.

As part of the reshuffle, Temilolu Seun Ashamu has been redeployed from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s economic planning framework.

Governor Makinde also announced his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, Ademola Aderinto, as a commissioner-designate. Aderinto will be forwarded to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in line with constitutional provisions.

In addition, the governor approved new strategic appointments, naming Honourable Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security, while Kolawole Elijah Akanmu was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.

The cabinet reshuffle and appointments are expected to enhance governance efficiency and reinforce the administration’s commitment to effective service delivery across key sectors of the state.
