Accident

Three people, including a mother and son, have been confirmed dead in an accident at Ohene Nkwanta on the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Ashanti Region.

The unfortunate incident occured on Sunday, October 5, 2025, when a BMW with the registration number GE 4700-20 reportedly collided with a Toyota Yaris taxi, registration AS 3861-24, near the Rider Iron and Steel Company.

Reports indicate that the BMW was travelling from Kumasi to Accra when it attempted to overtake improperly.

The emergency rescue team swiftly moved to the scene to assist the victims. Unfortunately, two victims, the driver and one passenger onboard the taxi, were pronounced dead at the scene, while a female passenger died upon arrival at the Hope Care Hospital in Odumasi.

The other passengers on the BMW who also sustained severe injuries were sent to Hope Care Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the Konongo Government Hospital Mortuary.
