Gachagua: Gen Z Must Lead Change by Registering to Vote

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called on Generation Z to register as voters in large numbers as the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise resumes today( Monday, September 29).

Speaking during a church service in Kajiado County, Gachagua praised the youth for their recent civic engagement and urged them to take the next critical step – registering to vote.

“The tool of change is the voting card,” he said.

“We appeal to young people across the country to register as voters. They have spoken out strongly in recent months, but real change will be achieved at the ballot.”

Gachagua emphasized that meaningful transformation depends on active participation in the electoral process, adding that young Kenyans should take the lead.

“The installation of a people’s government will be on the ballot. The country is counting on you,” he said.

“You have shown courage and determination, but you must take a step further.”

Switching to Kenya’s middle class, Gachagua called upon them to take a larger role in deciding the future of the nation, citing that they have historically posted low voter turnout during elections.

“They cannot stay at home and expect change to come,” he said.

He attended the church service alongside Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-Kenya leader Eugene Wamalwa.
