TNA brought back the Feast or Fired match for Impact (Jan. 22, 2026). The concept is four briefcases hung above the ring. Three cases contain title shot contracts. One case has a pink slip. We won’t find out the secret reveal until next week, but one thing is certain. A former TNA champion will be fired.

Eric Young, Steve Maclin, Eddie Edwards, and Trey Miguel won the cases. Oh, you didn’t hear? That’s right. Trey is back with TNA after being released from AEW.

The match played out with Young grabbing the first case. Home Town Man did the work, then Young pulled off his mask to steal the case. Rules dictate that the wrestler must be on the floor to officially win the case.

Maclin retrieved the second case after steamrolling over the Great Hands. Trey handled the third case after clearing space on a spider suplex to Ryan Nemeth.

Edwards used his wits to secure the fourth case. Edwards climbed the corner alongside System teammate Brian Myers. Myers took one for the team to sacrifice the opportunity by leaping for an elbow drop onto the pile outside. The idea was to give Edwards a clean path to the top. AJ Francis was standing in the way to block the escape, so Edwards had to outsmart him. Edwards tossed the case into Dolla’s hands, then he dropkicked him. Edwards snatched the case to finish the match.

This result means good news and bad news for Young, Maclin, Trey, and Edwards. Three will receive title shots, one will be fired. The reveal is next week on Impact.

That is a group of heavy hitters on the TNA roster. Each man has won several championships in TNA. For the sake of brevity, Young and Edwards are two-time TNA world champions, Maclin held the world title once, and Trey is a two-time X-Division champion.

It is tough to predict which man will be fired. TNA announced that they re-signed Trey, unless that is a storyline lie. Maclin is rumored to have re-signed as well. Again, that could be a lie. Edwards seems safe, because he just started a new angle turning the System heel with new members on this same episode. Young also has a story that’s been brewing for months babbling about the Cleanse coming to TNA.

My prediction is Young. His story can progress by being fired on screen without being fired in real life.

Share your thoughts on TNA’s Feast of Fired. Who do you think will get fired? Which title shots would you like to see for the other three?
