Former military governor of Ebonyi and Delta States, Walter Feghabo rtd., is dead.

He died on Sunday, October 19, at the age of 69, Dockaysworld reports

Feghabo became the first military administrator of Ebonyi State in October 1996, shortly after the state was created from parts of Enugu and Abia States during General Sani Abacha’s military regime.

He led Ebonyi until August 1998, setting up the initial political and socioeconomic structures that guided the state’s early development.

In August 1998, Feghabo was appointed military administrator of Delta State during General Abdulsalami Abubakar’s transitional government.

He later handed over to the elected civilian governor James Ibori on May 29, 1999.

In June 1999, he retired along with other former military administrators from the Abacha and Abubakar regimes.

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru described Feghabo’s death as a loss to the nation, praising his leadership, discipline, and commitment to public service.

Condolences have been extended to his family, the people of Delta State, and the Nigerian Navy.
