Flying Eagles coach Zubairu joins Egyptian Club

Nigerian tactician Aliyu Zubairu has been appointed head coach of Egyptian second-division side Telecom SC.

Zubairu, who was officially unveiled by the club on Sunday, signed a two-year contract.

The experienced coach recently led Nigeria’s Flying Eagles to qualification for both the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations and the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Under his guidance, the team finished third at the continental tournament and reached the Round of 16 at the global event.

Zubairu first rose to prominence after guiding El-Kanemi Warriors to victory in the 2024 President Federation Cup. He has also managed Nigerian clubs Wikki Tourists, Gombe United, and Akwa United.

Renowned for his strategic mindset and player development skills, Zubairu emphasizes both the psychological and physical aspects of the game.

He has now been tasked with leading Telecom SC’s push for promotion to the Egyptian Premier League.
