Fire Guts Jos Terminus Market, 25 Shops Destroyed

A fire broke out at the Terminus Market in Jos, Plateau State capital, on Tuesday night, destroying about 25 shops.In a statement on Wednesday, the Terminus market secretary, Zakari Sale confirmed the incident, saying no lives were lost.He further revealed that the fire started between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and firefighters from the Federal Fire Service and the Plateau State Fire Service arrived quickly and were able to stop it from spreading to other parts of the market.Zakari Sale, said the damage was not as severe as what was recorded during previous fire outbreaks at the market. Although, he did not provide an estimated value of property loss.He added that investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
