Bible reading for Day 7  | John 4:13-14

“Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’”

Learn

Have you ever had a drink of Living Water? This is not normal water that you can drink from the tap or or buy from the supermarket. This is a special water that will quench your thirst forever. Even the most expensive water in the world does not have such power.

This Living Water is Jesus Himself.

A famous Bible story tells of Jesus meeting a Samaritan woman at the well where her whole village gets their water.

This woman, who had no friends in her village, came to the well under the hot sun because she was trying to avoid the people who were mean to her. But at the well that day, she met Jesus.

He introduced Himself for the first time as the Saviour whom God had promised in the Old Testament. Jesus promised her Living Water that will become like a fountain flowing from her.

The woman believed Jesus and was so filled with joy that she told everyone about Him. That was how many people in the Samaritan village also turned to God.

God wants Singapore to turn to Him. It sounds impossible, but Jesus has the answer: He is Living Water. This water changes lives and satisfies every thirst.

Have you had Living Water? Have you spent time with Jesus, talked to Him about your day, learnt from Him by reading the Bible and prayed to Him? When you do, your life will change and you will be like the woman at the well, joyfully sharing the Gospel.

This is how we can turn Singapore to God one person at a time.

Discuss

1. Is there anyone you know who has no friends? How can you show kindness to this person?

2. In what ways can you fill yourself with Jesus, the Living Water?

Pray

1. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to anyone around who might be lonely or hurting whom you can share God’s love and Gospel with.

2. Pray that God will bring many chances for you to tell other people about Jesus.

3. Pray that the one who hears you will believe and will want to go to church to know more.
