Ex-Symphony Group CEO Amit Kumar joins Moglix as MD and chief business officer

B2B industrial commerce and deeptech platform Moglix has appointed Amit Kumar as managing director and chief business officer (CBO), as the company looks to expand its emerging business segments and explore new growth opportunities.

The appointment follows Moglix’s hiring of Animesh Srivastava as chief technology officer in March.

Kumar joins Moglix’s central leadership team with more than two decades of experience in business leadership, management consulting and enterprise transformation. 

He most recently served as group CEO and executive director at Symphony, where he oversaw profit and loss growth, supply chain restructuring and large-scale digital adoption during his nearly five-year tenure.

Before joining Symphony, Kumar held senior positions at KPMG India, EY and PwC. He advised companies across sectors including consumer durables, automotive, chemicals, steel, FMCG and industrial manufacturing on procurement, operations and business transformation.

Kumar began his career at GE Aircraft Engines in its new-product development team. He later co-founded a data analytics company focused on business modelling and advanced analytics for enterprise clients.

Kumar said joining Moglix presented a rare opportunity to help build “a disruptor of global scale from India”.

Founded in 2015 by Rahul Garg, Moglix operates an online platform supplying industrial and business products including electrical equipment, power tools, motors and medical supplies.
