Ex CDS Musa Reacts After Being Sacked By Tinubu

Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (retd.), on Friday said he was leaving office with a clear conscience after President Bola Tinubu relieved him of his duties.

Musa, who served as the nation’s top military officer for over two years, stated this during his pull-out parade in Abuja.

He said he had given his best to the Nigerian Armed Forces and the fight against insecurity throughout his nearly four decades in service.

Musa said that he served the country with dedication and accountability and was proud of his record.

The retired general thanked President Tinubu for giving him the chance to serve, describing the appointment as an honour.

He added that though he had retired from active service, his commitment to Nigeria would remain strong, pledging continued loyalty to the President and the country.

Musa urged security agencies to work together in the ongoing battle against insecurity, stressing that no single institution can win the fight alone.

He appealed to Nigerians to keep praying for soldiers at the frontline, saying their sacrifices have brought many of the successes recorded so far.

He also congratulated his successor, General Olufemi Oluyede, who officially took over as Chief of Defence Staff on Thursday, urging officers to support the new leadership with the same loyalty and professionalism.

Musa expressed gratitude to his family, colleagues, and the media for their support during his years of service, describing them as an important part of his journey.

He was appointed Chief of Defence Staff on June 19, 2023, before being replaced by Tinubu as part of changes in the country’s security leadership.
