Ex-Akwa Ibom Governor Urges Nigerians To Support Tinubu In Tackling National Challenges

Former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, has urged Nigerians to put aside political, ethnic and religious differences and rally behind President Bola Tinubu as the country grapples with mounting socioeconomic challenges.

The appeal was contained in a statement made available to journalists on Monday, following Emmanuel’s remarks during an interactive session with journalists at the Pre-Service of Nine Lessons and Carol, held on Sunday at the United Evangelical Church, Surulere, Lagos.

He stressed that Nigeria is currently at a critical point and needed a collective national effort to avoid sinking into a deeper crisis. According to the former governor, only unity and a shared sense of responsibility can help the country surmount its present difficulties.

He warned against dwelling on issues that fuel division, urging citizens instead to focus on supporting the president in his efforts to find lasting solutions.

“This is not the time to dwell on factors that create divisions, the issues that expand the frontiers of our disagreements and further undermine our national unity,” Emmanuel said.

Calling for cross-party cooperation and religious tolerance, he urged Nigerians to “pull together to confront our common enemies” by offering every support necessary to enable Tinubu confront the nation’s challenges.

Emmanuel also encouraged the president to remain steadfast in pursuing policies and a vision aimed at overcoming the current difficulties and promoting good governance, adding that with unity and determined leadership, Nigeria can still achieve its full potential.
