Even primary 2 pupils know 0 can’t defeat 24″ – Group mocks Aare Akinkunmi Akinyemi on Ibadan North-East/South-East primary claim

IBADAN — Party members and residents in Ibadan North-East and South-East have been urged to disregard the claim by Akinkunmi Akinyemi that he won the party’s primary election, after he won 0 wards.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the group said it was illogical for Akinyemi to declare victory when he failed to secure a single ward. The group also questioned his standing within the party, alleging that he did not know his own ward chairman.

“How can someone who does not know party members in his own local government claim to know anybody in the counterpart local government?” the statement read. “Ibadan North-East and South-East are not places for trial and error.”

The group argued that the outcome of the primary was clear and final, and said the party’s integrity depends on respecting the will of members as expressed at the ward level. It added that Akinyemi is not ashamed of the unpopular and unrecognized results, noting that he was not recognized even in his own base, and continues to make baseless claims on social media.
