Ekiti: Customer Zooms Off After Filling Car With Over N58,000 Fuel Without Paying

A brazen theft occurred at a fuel station in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, when a driver made off with a significant amount of fuel without paying.

The incident which happened on January 3rd was reported by an X user, Liltuffsb, who took to social media to raise awareness and request aid in the capture of the perpetrator.

According to the user, as disclosed on Sunday, the thief drives a Honda Accord with the plate number GGE576DY.

The user described how the thief cleverly manipulated the situation, exiting his vehicle to open the gate wider, facilitating a quick escape.

As of Monday, the thief remained at large, with the eyewitness reporting that the victim, Mr. Sunday, had received N37,000, presumably as compensation or reimbursement.

The authorities have been alerted, and a manhunt is hopefully underway to apprehend the suspect.

“The old man that sold the fuel to him is in debt and has been in deep tears since the incident occurred (3rd of January 2025). We have the CCTV footage of the whole incident,

“The incident occured in Ado ekiti, ekiti state. He drives an (Honda accord end of discussion). Plate number ( GGE576DY). As his car was getting filled he walked to open the gate wider to aid his escape. Pls, help to get this criminal caught and raise awareness.”

“This is Mr Sunday this morning, he received 37,000.
Btw, the criminal has not been apprehended yet,” the user wrote.
