Eddie Kingston announces he’s had surgery

Eddie Kingston’s Instagram If Eddie Kingston were healthy right now, he’d probably be getting ready for his second Blood & Guts match. It’s hard to believe the long-time AEW stalwart wouldn’t be among those standing up to the corporate Elite if he could. Unfortunately, Kingston’s been out since May with an injury he suffered while dropping the NJPW Strong Openweight title to Gabe Kidd at Resurgence. Initially thought to “just” be a broken leg, it was later revealed Eddie also tore his ACL and meniscus. And since Eddie did fracture his tibia, he had to wait for that to heal before he could have surgery on his knee. That wait is over, as the Mad King’s Instagram post today (July 9) indicates he’s had the operation. Both the picture and the caption are pretty much exactly how we imagined an “Eddie Kingston announces he’s had surgery” post, too... Well it’s done. So what up !

Never change, Eddie. But do heal up. We’re looking forward to seeing you back on our screens, hopefully sometime in early 2025.
