Eddie Hearn confirms Anthony Joshua, Jake Paul fight set for 2026

British boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul have reached an agreement to face each other in 2026.

The 35-year-old Joshua, who has been sidelined since his September 2024 knockout loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium, underwent elbow surgery over the summer and is targeting a return to the ring early next year.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hearn also confirmed that Joshua has received an offer to stage a fight in Ghana, which could act as a tune-up bout ahead of a potential showdown with Tyson Fury later in 2026.

“Anthony Joshua’s 100 per cent still a target. He is trying to fight in February… I think they said in Ghana,” he revealed. “They have come out with that, but pending this fight, and pending everything coming together. Absolutely.”

Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions alongside Paul, led talks with Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, and confirmed that Anthony Joshua remains a target for 2026.

“Anthony Joshua is 100 per cent still a target,” Bidarian said. “He’s trying to fight in February, I think in Ghana, they’ve come out with that. But pending this fight and pending everything coming together, absolutely. We have an agreement in principle.”
