Drew McIntyre quits WWE

“I can’t do this anymore. Screw this company.” Drew McIntyre was screwed out of the world heavyweight championship in the main event of Clash at the Castle 2024, just like he was screwed out of the WWE Universal championship in the main event of Clash at the Castle 2022. Drew McIntyre was screwed out of the world heavyweight championship in the main event of Clash at the Castle 2024, just like he was screwed out of the WWE Universal championship in the main event of Clash at the Castle 2022. He’s spent years frustrated, trying to get to that moment of winning a major title in front of paying fans, getting his due, getting payback against those who wronged him.

At every turn, something has gone wrong.

Of late, that something is CM Punk, who cost him the world heavyweight title just minutes after he won it at WrestleMania 40, and then did so again in Glasgow this past weekend. He snapped after that loss, attacking officials, putting his hands on announcers, the whole thing. We were told he was fined for that.

He appeared on Monday Night Raw in Corpus Christi, Texas this week to make his first comments since those events and after repeating CM Punk’s name a couple times while trying to find the words, he finally surprised us all with just a few more.

“I can’t do this anymore. Screw this company. I quit.”

And then he walked out, telling Raw General Manager Adam Pearce that he was dead serious about this. He also told Triple H he was serious, saying he heard his comments about Punk at the Clash post-show press conference.

He’s over it.

This story just got a whole lot more interesting.
