Dog miraculously survives a 20-foot anaconda attack as crowd rushes in to rescue it

A video circulating on social media shows the moment a pet dog narrowly survived an attack by an anaconda in São Paulo state, Brazil.

The footage captures the small dog struggling as the large snake coiled tightly around it. According to reports, the incident occurred on February 5 after the dog’s owner noticed the situation and immediately contacted the fire brigade.

Before emergency responders arrived, local residents intervened by throwing stones to force the anaconda to release the animal. The dog was successfully freed and survived the incident.

Firefighters later captured the snake, which measured approximately 6 metres (20 feet) in length. Authorities confirmed that the anaconda was unharmed.

On Friday, February 6, the snake was released into a forested area along the São José do Dourados River in nearby Pontalinda, far from residential communities.
