Dodge Hornet Has Been Discontinued

Alfa Romeo unveiled the refreshed Tonale at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, but the 2026 Dodge Hornet was nowhere in sight. There seems to be a good reason for that, as this crossover is dead.

This is a surprising development, as the Hornet was Dodge’s second-best-selling vehicle in 2025. However, its sales fell by 54 percent to just 9,365 units.

This put the model well behind the Durango, which found 81,168 buyers. However, the Hornet outsold the all-electric Charger Daytona and its 7,421 units. Despite that modest achievement, sales of 9,365 units are terrible for a crossover that starts at $29,995.

A spokesperson for Stellantis said that “production of the Italian-built Dodge Hornet has ended due to changes in the political environment.” It seems to be a subtle way of blaming the tariffs and the Trump administration.

The company added that they are “committed to ensuring that Hornet owners continue to receive customer support, service, warranty, and a continuous supply of parts.”

That shouldn’t be too difficult, considering the model is virtually identical to the Alfa Tonale. The Tonale, for its part, isn’t going anywhere, as Alfa has confirmed that a redesigned 2026 model will arrive in the US market this quarter, following its debut late last year.
