A heartbreaking scene unfolded at Ashaiman Lebanon, as Alfred Agoma, a man battling kidney cancer, attempted to commit suicide by climbing a high-tension pole.

The dramatic incident was sparked by Agoma’s inability to afford the necessary medical treatment, leaving him with feelings of hopelessness.

Concerned residents quickly alerted the authorities, prompting a swift response from the police, fire service officers, and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

The emergency responders worked together to bring Agoma down safely from the pole, preventing a tragic outcome.

In a poignant revelation, Agoma shared that he had been diagnosed with kidney cancer at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) but was unable to afford the treatment due to mounting medical bills.

The financial burden had pushed him to the brink of suicide.
