“Dem say na man” – Davido tells Governor Adeleke to halt plans to help viral hawker, Eniola

Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke aka Davido, has reacted after discovering that Eniola, the viral hawker he wanted to help is a man who disguises as a woman to scam people.

It may be recalled that popular comedian, Brain Jotter shared a video of Eniola hawking bottled water in Lagos state and it moved him to show some benevolence.

He listened to the story shared by the ‘young girl’ who revealed that she is also a makeup artist and later gave her N400,000 to support the business.

Upon seeing the video on Twitter, Davido tagged Governor Adeleke, for government intervention.

“From Osun state ??? @AAdeleke_01 @MrBanksOmishore,” the singer wrote.

In response to Davido’s tag, Mr Adeleke praised Eniola’s dedication to honest hard work, and revealed that his administration will reach out to her to explore opportunities.

Adeleke said, “Thanks for sharing the video. Eniola’s dedication to making an honest living is inspiring. She embodies the qualities that represent Osun. I’ve directed my office to get in touch with her & explore possibilities to assist in advancing her education or improving her makeup skills.”

Reacting further, Davido also appealed to the public to help him locate Eniola.

But some persons who had helped Eniola in the past came out to disclose that she is actually a man who dresses up as a woman to deceive unsuspecting good Samaritans.

On discovering that it was a well organised scam by the hawker, Davido urged his uncle, Governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke to shelve his planned empowerment for Eniola.
