Dashcam Shows Texas-Based Kenyan Truck Driver Laughing After Fatal Road-Rage Incident

A Kenyan-born truck driver based in Texas has been sentenced to prison in the United States after admitting to deliberately ramming another tractor-trailer during a deadly road-rage incident on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Joseph Nyandwaro, 41, received a six-year prison sentence on Friday, February 6, 2026, after pleading guilty to second-degree vehicular homicide at the Gloucester County Superior Court.

The fatal crash occurred on June 22, 2025, in Woolwich Township, along the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike. Prosecutors told the court that Nyandwaro intentionally struck a truck driven by Osman Aden, a 40-year-old Minnesota resident, forcing the vehicle into a concrete barrier. Aden died instantly from the impact.

According to investigators, the incident followed a series of aggressive driving actions.

“Nyandwaro repeatedly blocked Aden’s truck before deliberately ramming,” State Police and witnesses told investigators, as quoted by MSN.

Authorities said dashcam footage retrieved from inside Nyandwaro’s truck captured the violent collision and showed him laughing as he drove away from the scene.

“He did not stop to check on the victim but continued driving,” authorities said.

“He later tried to alter the appearance of his truck and conceal damage,” prosecutors added.

Investigators tracked down Nyandwaro’s vehicle with assistance from the trucking company he worked for. Forensic inspections later confirmed his involvement in the fatal crash.

In court, prosecutors described the case as a clear instance of second-degree homicide. As part of a plea deal, Nyandwaro also admitted to leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Under the agreement, the prosecution recommended a six-year custodial sentence, with Nyandwaro required to serve at least 85 percent of the term before becoming eligible for parole.
