The city boy movement has commended the developmental strides of Bayelsa state Governor, Senator Douye Diri, describing the projects slated for commissioning as transformative and pivotal to the state’s economic growth.

Speaking in Yenagoa, the director-general of the movement, Shaga Oluwantosi, expressed optimism that the landmark projects to be commissioned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would usher in unprecedented development and accelerate industrialization in Bayelsa state.

According to Oluwantosi, the projects reflect Governor Diri’s commitment to fulfilling promises made upon assuming office, he noted that residents are eagerly anticipating their completion and commissioning, expressing confidence that they will significantly improve the living standards of the people.

He further disclosed that the movement’s patron, Barrister Seyi Tinubu, is expected to visit the Bayelsa state office of the city boy movement on saturday.

Oluwantosi praised the patron for sustaining the enthusiasm and engagement of young Nigerians nationwide.

Highlighting the group’s growing influence, Oluwantosi stated that the City Boy Movement has distinguished itself by building a formidable grassroots network aimed at mobilizing support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

“The City Boy Movement has set a standard for other groups by establishing a strong structure and grassroots presence to ensure President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s return to office in 2027 he said.

In a related development, the Bayelsa State Director of the movement, Chief Barrister Blankson Osomkime, joined other citizens in appreciating President Tinubu for his planned visit to the state to commission several legacy projects.

Osomkime described the visit as historic, noting that Bayelsa would be the first state in the South-South region to host the president for such a significant event.

He commended President Tinubu for the honor and lauded Governor Diri for executing what he termed “remarkable projects” capable of enhancing the welfare of the people.

Among the projects listed for commissioning are the 630-metre Angiama-Oporoma Bridge, the New Yenagoa City Road, the Ekeremor-Agge Road, and a 60-megawatt gas-fired power plant expected to improve electricity supply in the state.

Osomkime also called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid, citing ongoing policies aimed at repositioning the nation’s economy.

He revealed that the movement has intensified efforts to mobilize nationwide support in alignment with the president’s renewed hope agenda.

Additionally, he announced plans for a large scale empowerment programme scheduled for the 15th of the month, aimed at equipping youths and men with skills and resources to become self reliant and contribute meaningfully to society.

The initiative he said, is supported by the movement’s patron, Seyi Tinubu, whom he described as a compassionate and visionary leader, he also commended other directors of the movement for their dedication to its growth and impact.

Osomkime urged Bayelsans and Nigerians at large to maintain confidence in president Tinubu’s leadership and rally behind his administration to ensure the continuity of ongoing reforms and development efforts.
