Chukwueze shifts focus to Super Eagles’ World Cup Qualifiers after Fulham move

Samuel Chukwueze said he is fully focused on Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa after completing his move to Fulham.

The winger joined the Premier League club on loan from Serie A side AC Milan on Monday, linking up with compatriots Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi at Craven Cottage.

Nigeria will host the Amavubi of Rwanda in a matchday seven clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday.

The Super Eagles will then travel to Bloemfontein to face Bafana Bafana of South Africa three days later.

The three-time African champions currently sit fourth in Group C with seven points from six games.

Chukwueze stressed the importance of the upcoming fixtures.

“For now, I am just focusing on the games. We need the two games — Rwanda and South Africa,” Chukwueze told Fulham TV.

“I think we have to win both matches to secure our World Cup ticket.”
