The Federal Government has felicitated with Christian faithful across the country on the occasion of Christmas, describing the season as one of love, sacrifice and hope, which calls for unity and renewed faith in the nation despite prevailing challenges.

In a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday in Abuja, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said the values embodied in Christmas remind Nigerians of the need to care for one another, remain united and continue to believe in the country.

“Indeed, the patience and resilience of Nigerians will not be taken for granted by the government, and neither will the sweat and toil of Nigerians go in vain,” he said.

He reaffirmed that the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, remains committed to building a safer, stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for all citizens.

As Nigerians celebrate the festive season, Idris urged them to remember those facing difficulties, particularly families affected by acts of terror, while also appreciating the sacrifices of security personnel who continue to defend lives, property and the nation against various threats.

“We should have a special place in our hearts for our security personnel, who continue to defend our lives, property and homeland from all forms of threats,” he said.

The minister further called on Nigerians to use the Christmas season to promote peace, kindness and unity within their homes and communities.

He concluded by wishing Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

“God bless you all. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he added.
