Chelsea Threaten Complaint Against Man City Over Maresca Pursuit

Chelsea F.C. are reportedly preparing to file a legal complaint over Manchester City F.C.’s move for former head coach Enzo Maresca unless an agreement on compensation is reached, according to The Sun.

Reports claim Chelsea officials were angered by allegations that Maresca held discussions with Manchester City while still employed at Stamford Bridge.

With Maresca now expected to succeed Pep Guardiola at City, tensions have reportedly risen between the two clubs over the terms of his departure.

Should both sides fail to settle on compensation, Chelsea could escalate the matter to the Premier League for further investigation.

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali, speaking at the CAA World Congress of Sports, hinted at unresolved legal issues surrounding the managerial change.

“I think the reasons will become kind of clear in due course. But no, it’s not a change we wanted to make.”

He also conceded that the upheaval has disrupted performances on the pitch.
