Chelle names 23-man Super Eagles squad for Lesotho, Benin W’Cup qualifiers

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has unveiled a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Benin Republic.

The squad sees the return of Semi Ajayi, who missed September’s fixtures due to injury, while France-based Terem Moffi and Russia-based Olakunle Olusegun are also recalled. Striker Jerome Akor Adams has earned his maiden senior team invitation.

Captain William Troost-Ekong, Stanley Nwabali, Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon all feature.

The players will assemble in Polokwane on Monday, October 6, ahead of their clash with Lesotho at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday, October 10. 

The Eagles will then return to Uyo to face group leaders Benin Republic in a decisive final group game on Tuesday, October 14.
