Leading on-demand mobility company, Bolt has announced that it has processed 1,000 insurance claims by drivers and passengers on its platform. This was disclosed in a statement seen by Technext. According to the statement, the feat, achieved in partnership with MyCoverGenius, was achieved between September 2020 and now.

Bolt said that by successfully processing over 1,000 insurance claims,  the company is reaffirming its commitment to the safety and security of its riders and drivers. The company also said the milestone underscores its dedication to providing a reliable and protected ride-sharing experience for all users in partnership with MyCoverGenius.

Speaking about the milestone, Country Manager, Yayaha Mohammed said the digital mobility company remains committed to ensuring that every ride taken on its platform is safe and secure. This commitment was why they decided to partner with MyCoverGenius to curate a unique insurance product which addresses the risks that drivers and riders may face. 

Processing over 1,000 insurance claims is a testament to our dedication to the safety and well-being of our users. Bolt’s insurance policies cover a wide array of incidents, ensuring that both drivers and passengers are protected from unforeseen events during their rides. This is part of several safety toolkits implemented and are continuously evaluated and improved,” he said.

Bolt’s partnership with MyCoverGenius

To ensure the well-being of its riders and drivers, Bolt partnered with MyCoverGenius to offer comprehensive coverage for all trips. The insurance products, built with flexibility and affordability in mind, are designed to cover a range of incidents, including loss/damage to mobile devices, bodily injury (medical expenses), temporary disabilities, permanent disabilities and death. The company said the overall objective was to provide peace of mind to all its users.

The e-hailing company also noted that of all the incidents covered by its insurance policy, loss or damage to mobile devices has been the most frequently claimed incident. This is a pointer to the possible kinds of mishaps that happen on the trips. 

The company also said that the streamlined process ensures that claims are handled swiftly and efficiently, thus minimising any inconvenience to users.

Speaking about his company’s involvement, CEO of MyCoverGenius, Adebowale Banjo said that their collaboration with the e-hailing company has allowed them to provide insurance packages that protect every trip and insure both parties on the trip.
