Raheem Okoya, the son of Nigerian billionaire industrialist and owner of Eleganza Group, Chief Rasaq Okoya, has sparked mixed reactions on social media after he claimed that every money he has today is the result of his own hard work and not his father’s wealth.

Raheem Okoya speaks about his source of wealth

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Raheem made the statement during an interview on Wazobia Max Television.

He boldly said that all the money in his bank account came from his personal efforts and dedication, insisting that he didn’t depend on his father’s riches.

In his words, he said: “Every penny in my account today, is base on what I do, it’s my hard and my sweat.”

Okoya comfortable but not yet where he wants to be

Speaking further, Raheem explained that although he has already made his own money through his work and determination, he is still not where he wants to be in life. However, he admitted that he is currently comfortable with his progress.

Mixed reactions trail his statement

His comments quickly went viral and drew many reactions from Nigerians online, with many people sharing different opinions about his statement.

One user, Big Tee, wrote: “Easy to say when you’re born into comfort. Even if you don’t touch your father’s wealth, the network, exposure & safety net are already privilege. Being ‘self-made’ hits different when there’s no backup plan.”

Another user, Favochino, commented: “I have no issues with this statement, I just want to know what he does to earn the money.”

Ahmed Bakare also reacted, saying: “Because the beginning was very easy for him, if you start from the street you won’t fresh at all.”

On the other hand, Abubakar Sanni praised Raheem’s father, saying: “Love this type of billionaire father’s that force their children to make money <div class= Read Original
