Biden blasted after bizarre 'hit in the head' response to securing Israel-Hamas hostage deal

The reporter for News Israel 13 - Neria Kraus - shared her strange interaction online, sparking a vast amount of criticism for the outgoing President.

During a meeting between Biden and the Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Kraus asked: "Do you think you can get a hostage deal by the end of your term?"

In response, Biden - seemingly referring to the large amount of cameras and video equipment in the room - quipped: "Do you think that you can get hit in the head by the camera behind you?"

His sharp response has attracted a slurry on online criticism, with one user posting: "What a complete a*s."

Other comments below the reporter's original post called Biden "nasty", "rude" and "demeaning".

Meanwhile, several users speculated on how the press would have reacted if Trump had treated a female reporter in the same way.

Throughout the rest of the meeting held in the Oval Office, the President did not answer any other question from the press, leaving President Herzog to label Iran as an "evil empire" and a "major engine of anti-Semitism."

During their meeting, Herzog and Biden were scheduled to discuss the war in Gaza.

Previously, Biden has said that releasing hostages was a top priority for him. However, he is set to depart the White House in just a few months' time.

The Biden administration had also previously urged Israel to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza as the war has left over 45,000 dead, including over 224 humanitarian aid workers.

The current President has been attempting to settle a ceasefire deal in Gaza ahead of Donald Trump's inauguration.

During his visit to Washington DC, the Israeli President has planned to meet with America's next UN ambassador Elise Stefanik, as well as Trump ally and adviser Senator Lindsey Graham.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed he has already spoken with the President-elect three times since the US election last week.

Throughout the US presidential race, the Republican has said that he would bring an end to several wars across the globe - including conflicts in the Middle East.
